Your WDW trip is booked.
Here's everything you need.

From setting up your app to Lightning Lane strategy, resort tips, dining, and packing — everything in one place, curated by Jenna.

Start Here

I just booked — what's next?

Congrats!! Here's your exact checklist for the first week after booking. Get these done early and future-you will be so thankful.

1
Download My Disney Experience
Download the My Disney Experience app — this is your lifeline for the entire trip. Park entry, dining reservations, Lightning Lane purchases, show times, wait times, mobile ordering — all of it lives here. Download it now, not the night before!
iOS & AndroidFree download
2
Create your Disney account
Go to DisneyWorld.com and create a free Disney account — or log in if you already have one. Use the same email for both the website and the app. This account is where all of your reservations, tickets, and purchases live.
DisneyWorld.comSame email everywhere
3
Link your hotel reservation
In the app, go to My Reservations → Add Hotel Reservation and enter your confirmation number (Jenna sends this in your booking documents). Linking your hotel unlocks resort guest perks including Early Theme Park Entry — 30 minutes before the park opens, free!
Confirmation # from JennaUnlocks early entry!
4
Add family & friends — and link them
This is the step people miss! Adding and linking are two different things.

Add: My Profile → Family & Friends List → Add a Guest. Each adult needs their own Disney account.

Link: Each person logs into their Disney account and accepts your connection request. Once linked, you can book Lightning Lane and dining for your whole group from one phone.

Kids under 13 don't need a separate account — manage them under your profile.
Add ≠ LinkEveryone must acceptEasy to miss!
5
Save a payment method
Go to My Profile → Payment Methods and save the card you'll use for Lightning Lane. When LL opens at 7 AM on your park day, you need to buy in seconds — no time to enter a card number. Save it now so you're ready at 6:59 AM.
For 7 AM Lightning LaneDo this before your trip!
6
Link dining reservations
If Jenna booked dining for you, it should auto-appear once your hotel is linked. If anything is missing, go to My Reservations → Add Dining Reservation and enter the confirmation number. You'll get reminders in the app before each reservation.
Usually auto-appearsAdd manually if missing
7
Turn on notifications
Allow push notifications from the My Disney Experience app. You'll get alerts for Lightning Lane availability, virtual queue drops (for high-demand new rides), dining reminders, and itinerary updates. Missing a 7 AM virtual queue drop because notifications were off is a heartbreak we can avoid!

7 AM — Day Of
Lightning Lane Opens
Have the app open and your purchase screen ready at 6:59 AM. Buy your Lightning Lane Single Pass first — those sell out in minutes. Then grab your Multi Pass selection right after.
⚡ There are 3 Lightning Lane options at WDW: Multi Pass, Single Pass, and Premier Pass. Prices vary by date and park — purchase in the My Disney Experience app. All are per person, per day.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass LLMP

Pre-select up to 3 experiences before your trip with arrival windows. You can hold up to 3 at once. After scanning in (or 2 hours), book your next selection.

  • Resort guests (Disney Hotels, Swan & Dolphin, Shades of Green): book 7 days before your first park day, for your entire stay (up to 14 days) at 7 AM
  • Off-site guests: book 3 days in advance at 7 AM. Date-based multi-day tickets can book all days at once; annual passes book one day at a time
  • Booking opens at 7 AM — you have a 5-minute window to make selections. Grab what you want first, then modify times later!
  • MK, EPCOT & Hollywood Studios have a Tier system — pick 1 from Tier 1, 2 from Tier 2. Animal Kingdom has no tiers — pick any 3.
  • Note: PhotoPass is not included with Multi Pass at WDW — attraction photos are purchased separately
Lightning Lane Single Pass LLSP

Sold separately for the top headliner rides not included in Multi Pass. Up to 2 per day. Same booking window as Multi Pass.

  • Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tron Lightcycle Run
  • EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  • Hollywood Studios: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Animal Kingdom: Avatar Flight of Passage
  • Can be purchased with or without a Multi Pass — you can buy both, or just one
  • Can also purchase LLSP in addition to a Virtual Queue if a ride requires one
Lightning Lane Premier Pass LLPP

The all-inclusive option — one-time access to every Lightning Lane in the park, at any time, no return window needed. Includes Single Pass rides too.

  • Enter any LL whenever you want — no booking, no return times
  • Valid for one park per day only
  • Same booking window as other passes (7 days for resort guests, 3 days for off-site)
  • View prices up to 21 days in advance in the app — nonrefundable and nontransferable
  • Typical pricing: Magic Kingdom $329–$449 · EPCOT $169–$249 · Hollywood Studios $269–$349 · Animal Kingdom $129–$199
🎯 Multi Pass Tier Guide

For MK, EPCOT & HS: pick 1 from Tier 1 and 2 from Tier 2. Prioritize these based on demand:

  • MK Tier 1 (pick 1): Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Peter Pan's Flight, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder, Space Mountain
  • MK Tier 2 (pick 2): Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean are the highest demand
  • EPCOT Tier 1 (pick 1): Remy's Ratatouille Adventure or Frozen Ever After
  • EPCOT Tier 2: Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth
  • HS Tier 1 (pick 1): Slinky Dog Dash or Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
  • HS Tier 2: Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania!
  • Animal Kingdom (no tiers — pick 3): Na'vi River Journey, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest
💡 Booking Tips
  • Be sure all friends and family are connected to your account before booking (up to 20 people)
  • Within the 5-minute booking window, grab the rides you want most — even if the times don't work. You can modify times after!
  • Tiers go away after you scan into your first ride — once you tap in to your first LLMP ride at the park, you can then book any Tier 1 or Tier 2 ride freely. You also unlock LLs in other parks if park hopping.
  • Park Hoppers can book LLs across multiple parks — when pre-selecting experiences, choose each park you'll visit

  • Early Entry (resort guests, 30 min before open) is FREE — great for hitting LLSP targets without paying

The ultimate Disney experience — and Jenna can book it for you!

A VIP Tour means a personal guide plans your entire day, escorts your group through the parks, and gets you expedited access to attractions — no standby lines. It's Disney on a completely different level. Reach out to Jenna to discuss whether a VIP Tour is right for your trip.

magicalwonderstravel@gmail.com · 580.736.1033

⭐ What Is a VIP Tour?
  • A private, dedicated Disney guide is assigned exclusively to your group for the entire day
  • Your guide plans a fully customized itinerary based on your group's priorities and preferences
  • Expedited access to attractions — your group skips the standby line at every ride
  • Private transportation between parks is included
  • Your guide handles everything — you just show up and enjoy
  • Available at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort
💰 What Does It Cost?
  • $450–$950 per hour depending on the date and season — peak holidays are at the higher end
  • 7-hour minimum, 10-hour maximum per tour day
  • The hourly rate covers your entire group of up to 10 people — so the per-person cost goes down with a larger group
  • Park admission is not included — each guest still needs a valid park ticket
  • At minimum: 7 hours × $450 = $3,150 for the group (+ park tickets)
  • Club Level resort guests can currently save 20% on select dates — ask Jenna!
✨ What's Included?
  • Dedicated personal guide for your entire visit
  • Expedited attraction access — skip standby lines throughout the day
  • Fully customized itinerary built around your group's must-dos
  • Private transportation between parks (if park hopping)
  • Exclusive VIP Tour merchandise available to purchase
  • Guide's insider knowledge of the parks, hidden spots, and photo locations
  • Flexibility to change plans on the fly — your guide adapts throughout the day
🎯 Is It Worth It?
  • Best for: special occasions (anniversaries, milestone birthdays, proposals), large family reunions, guests with mobility considerations, or anyone who wants a once-in-a-lifetime experience
  • When split among 8–10 people, the per-person cost becomes much more reasonable
  • You'll cover more rides in one day than most guests do in three
  • No app management, no Lightning Lane stress, no waiting — just pure enjoyment
  • Celebrities, athletes, and VIP guests use this service — it's genuinely special
📅 How to Book
  • Book up to 60 days in advance by calling Disney's VIP Tours line or through your travel agent
  • Jenna can book this as part of your vacation package — reach out early as availability is limited
  • You'll still need valid park tickets for each guest — Jenna can help bundle everything together
  • Peak dates (spring break, summer, holidays) book up fast — don't wait if you're interested
  • Call Disney VIP Tours: (407) 560-4033 · or contact Jenna to handle it for you!
💡 VIP Tour Tips
  • Think about your group's top 5–6 priority experiences before your tour — your guide will build around those
  • Wear comfortable shoes — you'll cover a LOT of ground
  • Guides are incredibly knowledgeable — ask them everything! Hidden dining spots, best photo locations, backstage stories
  • If your group has young kids, let your guide know — they'll pace the day accordingly
  • Some guests do one VIP Tour day and self-guide the rest of their trip for the best of both worlds
🚝 Monorail
  • Resort loop: Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian → Magic Kingdom
  • EPCOT loop: Transportation & Ticket Center → EPCOT
  • Walking path from Contemporary to MK — about 10 min and often faster than waiting
  • Starts before park open — great for Early Entry mornings
🚡 Disney Skyliner
  • Resorts served: Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation, Riviera
  • Goes to: EPCOT and Hollywood Studios
  • Gondola-style aerial tram — fast, scenic, and a uniquely Disney experience
  • May pause during lightning or high winds — have a backup plan on stormy afternoons
⛵ Boats
  • Magic Kingdom boats: from Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary
  • Disney Springs boats: from Port Orleans, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs
  • Boat to MK is one of the most magical ways to arrive — do it at least once
  • Runs less frequently than buses — check times before relying on it for rope drop
🚌 Disney Bus
  • Serves every resort to every park, Disney Springs, and water parks
  • Runs from ~45 min before park open until ~1 hour after park close
  • Expect 15–20 min waits at peak times — add 30–45 min buffer on rope drop mornings
  • Fastest option to Animal Kingdom from most resorts
🚗 Driving & Rideshare
  • Parking at WDW parks is free for resort guests — show your room key at the gate
  • Lyft and Uber operate throughout Disney property — often faster during off-peak hours
  • Minnie Vans (Disney's rideshare via Lyft) offer car seats and cast member knowledge
  • For MCO airport arrivals, a private car or Minnie Van avoids surge pricing surprises
💡 Transportation Tips
  • Skyliner resorts are unbeatable for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios access
  • Monorail resorts = fastest and most flexible access to Magic Kingdom
  • Boat to MK from the Polynesian at night — save it for a relaxed, magical evening
  • For buses: the app shows estimated arrival times — check before heading to the stop

Here's everything you need.

App setup, Lightning Lane strategy, park tips, and packing — everything for your Disneyland Resort vacation, curated by Jenna.

I just booked — what's next?

Congrats!! Here's your exact checklist for the first week after booking your Disneyland vacation.

1
Download the Disneyland app
Download the Disneyland app (separate from the WDW app). This is your command center for the whole trip — park entry, dining reservations, Lightning Lane purchases, show times, wait times, and mobile ordering. Get it now!
iOS & AndroidFree download
2
Create your Disney account
Go to Disneyland.com and create a free Disney account — or log in if you already have one. Use the same email for the website and the app. This is where your reservations, tickets, and purchases all live.

3
Link your hotel reservation
In the app, go to My Reservations → Add Hotel Reservation and enter your confirmation number from Jenna. Linking your hotel unlocks on-site guest perks. All three Disneyland Resort hotels are walkable to both parks — no bus or transportation needed!
Confirmation # from JennaWalking distance to both parks!
4
Add family & friends — and link them
This is the step people miss! Adding and linking are two different things.

Add: My Profile → Family & Friends List → Add a Guest. Each adult needs their own Disney account.

Link: Each person logs into their Disney account and accepts your connection request. Once linked, you can book Lightning Lane for your whole group from one phone — no passing phones around.

Kids under 13 are managed under a parent's profile.
Add ≠ LinkEveryone must acceptEasy to miss!
5
Save a payment method
Go to My Profile → Payment Methods and save the card you'll use for Lightning Lane purchases. At Disneyland, you buy Multi Pass when you arrive and scan in each morning — but having your payment saved means you can move instantly without fumbling at the gate. Also helpful for LLSP purchases in-park.
For LL purchases in the appSave it before your trip!
7

Allow push notifications from the Disneyland app. You'll get alerts for Lightning Lane availability, virtual queue drops, dining reminders, and park updates. Missing a 7 AM drop because notifications were off is a heartbreak we can avoid!

Night Before
App Prep Night
Confirm all reservations, charge your portable battery pack, verify your payment method is saved in the Disneyland app. Unlike WDW, you don't pre-book LL — you purchase and book when you scan into the park each morning. But make sure payment is saved so you're ready to move fast!
Morning of Each Park Day
Lightning Lane — Book When You Scan In
Purchase Multi Pass in the app and book your first LL the moment you scan in at the gate. Designate one person in your group to scan in first and book immediately for everyone. For LLSP (Radiator Springs Racers or Rise of the Resistance) — purchase separately in the app by clicking on the ride. These can go fast on busy days.
⚡ Disneyland LL works differently from WDW — no pre-trip booking, no tier system, and the Premier Pass covers BOTH parks. Purchase in the Disneyland app. Prices vary by day.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass LLMP

A daily pass that gives you access to multiple Lightning Lane lines plus PhotoPass photos. No tier system — pick any available ride.

  • Purchase in the app when you buy your ticket, or as soon as you scan into the park each morning
  • No pre-trip booking like WDW — you book your first LL when you scan in at the gate
  • Book every 2 hours, or as soon as you scan into the ride you most recently booked
  • You can only book each ride once per day
  • Price: ~$30–$40/person/day. Usually only sells out on holidays.
  • Includes PhotoPass photographers, attraction photos (Space Mountain at DL; Guardians, Incredicoaster, Radiator Springs Racers at DCA), and PhotoPass Lenses
  • Everyone in your party over age 2 needs their own Multi Pass
Lightning Lane Single Pass LLSP

A separate purchase for rides not covered by Multi Pass. These rides have no regular LL through Multi Pass — the only skip-the-line option is LLSP.

  • Disneyland Park: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (40")
  • Disney California Adventure: Radiator Springs Racers (40")
  • Price: ~$20–$30/person. Standby lines for these can regularly be 1–2 hours.
  • Buy in the app by clicking on the ride — no Multi Pass required first
  • If you skip LLSP: best chances are rope drop (if you're near the front), when the ride comes back up after a breakdown, or late at night while others watch fireworks/World of Color
Lightning Lane Premier Pass LLPP

The all-in option — access to every Lightning Lane at both Disneyland AND DCA, at any time, without booking return windows. Includes PhotoPass.

  • Covers all Multi Pass AND Single Pass rides at both parks — no booking required, just walk up and scan in
  • Price: ~$300–$400/person — a big investment, but no time spent in the app all day
  • Purchase in the Disneyland app up to 2 days in advance at 7 AM PST. Limited daily quantities — book as soon as your date opens
  • Best used with a Park Hopper ticket — do all LLs at both Disneyland and DCA, then spend the rest of the trip on other experiences
  • Biggest benefit: finish a whole land before moving on — not always possible with Multi Pass depending on return times
🧠 Multi Pass Strategy

DL's system rewards those who know the tricks:

  • Book your first LL the moment you scan in — designate one person to be "in charge" and scan in first so they can immediately book for the group
  • You have a 5-minute grace period before your window and a 15-minute grace period after — use this to your advantage
  • Don't cancel a LL you can't make! Instead, modify the return time before the hour is up. Canceling restarts your 2-hour clock; modifying doesn't.
  • Stack LLs in the afternoon — modify return times to cluster rides in the same land (e.g., Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours together)
  • Keep refreshing for earlier times — guests modify their LLs all day and earlier slots open up
  • Set an alarm to book your next LL every 2 hours — a missed booking window is a missed LL
✨ Multi-Experience Pass (MEP)

A free upgrade you can earn when a ride breaks down during your return window. These are extremely valuable.

  • If a ride goes down near or during your return time, do NOT edit your LL — wait 5–10 minutes for a push notification that you've received an MEP
  • MEPs let you access any ride on the pass at any time, without booking
  • Save MEPs for the afternoon when standby waits are longest
  • You can also "fish" for MEPs: book a LL on a ride that's currently down — if it's still closed at your return time, you'll receive an MEP
  • "Late Night Lotto": keep booking LLs at the end of the night even if you've left — if a ride breaks down, that MEP carries over to the next morning!
🎢 Multi Pass Attractions

Bold = sells out fastest. Book these first.

Once You're There

Make the most of every day.

Park tips and insider advice for getting the most out of Disneyland Resort.

🏰 Disneyland Park
  • Rope drop: Indiana Jones Adventure — very long waits all day otherwise
  • Must-do: Matterhorn Bobsleds, Indiana Jones, Rise of the Resistance, Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Hidden gem: New Orleans Square at night — one of the most beautiful areas at any Disney park
  • Best for: Classic Disney fans, history lovers — Walt walked these very streets
  • Tip: The Disneyland Railroad is a great way to rest your feet mid-day and see the whole park
🌟 Disney California Adventure
  • Rope drop: Radiator Springs Racers — always the longest wait in the park all day
  • Must-do: Radiator Springs Racers (LLSP), Guardians: Mission Breakout, Web Slingers
  • Avengers Campus: Great energy, shorter waits than WDW's Hollywood Studios
  • Best for: Marvel fans, adults, foodies
  • Tip: World of Color show at night — grab a viewing area spot about 30 minutes early
🏨 On-Property Hotel Tips
  • All three Disneyland hotels are walking distance to both parks — no bus or transportation needed
  • Grand Californian has a private entrance directly into DCA — a huge perk
  • On-site guests get Early Entry (30 min before open) — use this for your highest-demand LLSP rides
  • Tip: the walk from Paradise Pier Hotel through Grand Californian to DCA is about 5 minutes
💡 Jenna's DL Tips
  • Disneyland Park and DCA are right next to each other — Park Hopper tickets let you move freely all day
  • The resort is much more compact than WDW — you'll cover a lot more ground on foot
  • Downtown Disney is steps away for shopping and dining — no car needed in the evening
  • California weather is generally mild — but bring a light layer for evenings, it cools down fast
⭐ VIP Tours at Disneyland
  • Disneyland offers the same private VIP Tour experience as WDW — a dedicated guide, expedited attraction access, and a fully customized day
  • $450–$950/hour · 7-hour minimum · covers your entire group (up to 10 people)
  • Park admission is not included — each guest still needs a valid ticket
  • With a Park Hopper, your guide can take you through both Disneyland and DCA in one day
  • Seasonal extras available — special event tours, holiday experiences, and exclusive VIP Oasis access during summer 2026
  • Book up to 60 days in advance — ask Jenna to handle it as part of your package!

Your cruise is booked.
Here's everything you need.

Logistics, online check-in, ship highlights, Jenna's real must-dos, and packing lists — everything for your Disney Cruise Line sailing.

Start Here

I just booked — what's next?

Your cruise is booked! Here's what to do right away and in the weeks ahead.

1
Download the DCL Navigator app
Download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. This is your lifeline on the ship — dining location each evening, activity schedule, show times, onboard account, and messaging. The app runs on the ship's free Wi-Fi, so you do NOT need to purchase a Wi-Fi package to use it.
DCL NavigatorNo Wi-Fi purchase needed!
2
Create or log into your Disney account
Go to DisneyCruiseLine.com and log in (or create a free Disney account). This is where you'll manage your reservation, book activities, and complete online check-in. Use the same email for the app and the website.
DisneyCruiseLine.com
3
Know your booking window for activities
Activity booking (Palo, Remy, spa, excursions) opens based on your Castaway Club status at midnight ET:

Concierge: 105 days · Platinum: 90 days · Gold: 80 days · Silver: 75 days · First-timers: 75 days

Set a reminder now! Palo Brunch is the most in-demand reservation on any DCL ship — be ready the moment your window opens.
Midnight ETPalo fills instantly!
4
Complete online check-in
Online check-in opens at the same time as activity booking. It requires more than you'd expect — see the "Before You Go" section for the full list of what you'll need. Complete it on a computer rather than your phone — the portal is much easier on a larger screen. Deadline is 3 days before sailing.
Do on a computerDeadline: 3 days before sailing
5
Choose your Port Arrival Time (PAT)
During online check-in, you'll select your Port Arrival Time — your assigned boarding window. Choose the earliest available PAT. Earlier PATs board sooner, giving you more time to enjoy the ship before your stateroom is ready. You'll be eating at the buffet while others are still in line at the port!

6
Print your luggage tags
Once check-in is complete, your DCL luggage tags are available to print from the portal. Print them, fill in your name and stateroom number, and attach to every checked bag before you leave home.

Don't have a printer or tags didn't arrive in time? No stress at all! You can pick up luggage tags right at the port check-in area — just let the agent know when you arrive.

7
Set up your onboard account
During check-in, you'll add a credit or debit card to put on file for your onboard account. This is how all purchases on the ship are charged — specialty dining, drinks, spa, merchandise, and port excursions. The account is settled automatically at the end of the sailing. You can also set up a PIN or spending limit for kids' accounts.

Before You Go

Everything to do before you sail.

Online check-in prep, the WDW resort transfer process, and your complete cruise packing list.

Check-in sounds simple but asks for a lot — gather everything below before you sit down so you're not scrambling. Do it on a computer, not your phone.

👤 For Every Guest
  • Legal full name exactly as it appears on ID or passport
  • Date of birth
  • Passport number and expiration date (for international itineraries)
  • For domestic sailings: passport OR government-issued photo ID plus birth certificate for each guest
  • Emergency contact name and phone number
💳 Payment & Onboard Account
  • Credit or debit card to put on file — all ship purchases are charged to this
  • You can set a spending PIN or limit for kids' accounts through the portal
  • Onboard account is settled automatically at the end of the sailing
  • Note: your card on file is separate from pre-paid gratuities — both may apply
🚢 Port & Travel Details
  • Port Arrival Time (PAT) — selected during check-in; choose the earliest available
  • How you're getting to the port: DCL motorcoach, driving yourself, or other — you'll select this
  • Flight information if applicable (DCL monitors for delays)
  • If staying at a WDW resort the night before, DCL will coordinate luggage pickup with the resort
📸 Guest Photos
  • Upload a clear photo of each guest during check-in — used for security and boarding
  • Face forward, no sunglasses, no hats, plain or simple background
  • If a photo is rejected you'll be asked to resubmit — don't wait until the last day
  • Kids need photos too, even young children
🏷️ Luggage Tags
  • Luggage tags print from the portal once check-in is complete — fill in name and stateroom number
  • Attach securely to every checked bag before leaving home
  • No printer or tags didn't arrive? No stress! Pick them up at the port check-in area — just tell the agent
  • Never put medications or valuables in tagged checked bags
💡 Check-In Tips
  • Do check-in on a computer — much easier than on a phone
  • Have all documents scanned or photographed ahead of time to upload quickly
  • Choose the earliest PAT available — you'll board sooner and have more time before your room is ready
  • Questions? Reach out to Jenna — she walks clients through this all the time!
🧳

Pack a carry-on for embarkation day — this is important!

Your checked bags get picked up at the resort (~7 AM) and go directly to your stateroom. You won't see them until around 1:30 PM. Pack a separate carry-on with everything you need for the first several hours — do NOT put medications or valuables in checked bags.

🏨 WDW Resort → Port Canaveral: Step by Step

Disney offers a complimentary motorcoach from WDW resorts to Port Canaveral. Here's exactly how it works:

  1. 1
The night before: find a cast member at the lobby desk. Ask them to confirm your DCL bus departure time and luggage pickup time. Typically: luggage outside your room door by ~7 AM, bus departs ~9 AM — but always verify directly, as times can vary by resort.
  2. 2
Attach DCL luggage tags to every checked bag. Fill in your name and stateroom number. Set bags outside your room door by the pickup time — once they're gone, they go straight to the ship and you won't see them until your stateroom is ready.
  3. 3
Your carry-on is everything until ~1:30 PM. Swimsuit, flip flops, sunscreen, medications, charger, passport, and valuables. This is non-negotiable — see the carry-on callout above!
  4. 4
Meet the DCL motorcoach at the confirmed time. About an hour ride to Port Canaveral. Board using your Port Arrival Time (PAT) from online check-in.
  5. 5
Once on board: head to the pool deck, grab food from the buffet, and start the vacation! Your stateroom will be ready by mid-afternoon. If you're on a dining time waitlist, visit Guest Services right away to request a change in person — it often works!
📱 The DCL Navigator App
  • Download before you sail — it works on the ship's free Wi-Fi, no purchase needed
  • Shows your dining location each evening, full activity schedule, show times, and port info
  • Book onboard activities, check your onboard account, and message your group ship-wide
  • Check it every morning — it's your daily guide for the entire sailing
💰 Gratuities & Cash
  • Gratuities are typically pre-paid and will appear on the tip envelopes DCL gives you on the last day
  • You receive individual envelopes for your servers and room attendant — hand to them directly on the last night
  • You cannot leave cash on the table or in your room — they won't accept it that way
  • Bring cash if you'd like to tip above and beyond — Jenna always encourages it!
  • Also bring cash for tipping at bars throughout the sailing

Reminder: carry-on for day one!

Checked bags go straight to your stateroom and you won't see them until ~1:30 PM. Pack a separate bag with your swimsuit, flip flops, sunscreen, meds, charger, and valuables. The #1 thing first-time cruisers wish someone had told them.

👜 The Essential Carry-On
  • Swimsuit & cover-up
  • Flip flops or sandals
  • Change of clothes for embarkation day
  • All medications — never check these
  • Phone charger & cables
  • Passport, wallet, jewelry
  • Sunscreen for first day
  • Snacks for kids during boarding
  • Autograph book & Sharpies
🚢 Cabin Must-Haves
  • Magnetic hooks — all walls are magnetic! Hang hats, lanyards, toiletry bags. Major space saver.
  • Cruise-safe power strip — must say "cruise safe." Find on Amazon.
  • Hanging pocket organizer — hang with magnets (not hooks)
  • Lanyard for Key to the World card — your room key and payment in one
  • Battery nightlights for bathroom — the room is very dark
  • Tide Pods & dryer sheets — laundry rooms on nearly every floor
  • Door magnets or dry erase board — everyone decorates! Question of the day is a great idea.
  • Insulated water bottle — cups on board are small
  • Cash for gratuity envelopes on the last night
🎉 Nights & Events
  • Pirate Night costume or pirate-themed outfit
  • Sweater or sweatshirt — shows and restaurants are COLD every night
  • Comfortable romper or sundress — Jenna's daily uniform on the ship

Once You're There

Make the most of every day at sea.

Ship highlights and Jenna's real must-dos — the moments you'll remember forever.

🎭 Shows & Entertainment
  • Nighttime shows — do NOT miss them. They are amazing. So, so good. Every single night.
  • Night swim hack: catch the early show, then go to the pool around 7:30 PM. The pool is dead because everyone else is at the later show. Watch a movie and swim — one of Jenna's favorite memories.
  • Trivia — so fun for the whole family. Drop the kids at Kids Club for the adult rounds!
  • Craft time — scheduled throughout the sailing. Great family activity.
  • Movie theater — always a great option for a lazy afternoon at sea.
🐭 Characters & Activities
  • Character meet & greets — amazing on the ship. Even if the line looks long, it moves fast. Do it. Bring the autograph book!
  • Kids Club — DO IT. So many activities, incredibly safe and secure. Jenna's kids woke up most mornings asking to go. Drop them for hours and enjoy the adults-only areas. Fun for them AND for you.
  • Room service breakfast slips — fill out the slip and hang it on your door the night before. Right on time every morning. A perfect little wake-up snack!
🍿 Food & Drink Secrets
  • Refillable popcorn bucket — get it on Day 1 near the theater. Cheap refills the rest of the trip. Jenna's family carried it everywhere — became a beloved cruise tradition.
  • Insulated water bottle — cups on board are small and not convenient. Use yours at every drinking station on the ship.
  • Palo Brunch — the most-requested reservation on any DCL ship. Book it the moment your activity window opens.
  • Castaway Cay BBQ — included in your fare, served island-side. Don't skip it even if you're tired from the beach.
💡 Jenna's Honest Advice
  • UNDER pack. Jenna wore the same romper or sundress almost every day. Kids wore a tee, changed for swim, then back for dinner. You do not need a new outfit every evening.
  • Sweater every night. The shows and restaurants are COLD. Pack one and re-wear it. You will not regret this.
  • Verandah cabin if at all possible — it completely transforms the experience. Morning coffee outside watching the ocean is unmatched.
  • DCL app = your lifeline. No Wi-Fi purchase needed. Check it every morning for the full day's schedule.
Disney's Private Island Destinations

Disney now has two exclusive island destinations in the Bahamas — check your itinerary to see which one (or both!) you'll visit.

🏝️ Castaway Cay

Classic private island · Bahamas · Most Caribbean & Bahamas itineraries

  • Disney's original private island — no other cruise lines dock here
  • Get off the ship early — trams fill up fast and beach chairs go quickly
  • Family beach, adults-only Serenity Bay beach, and a kids' splash area — all separate
  • Snorkeling trail with Mickey-shaped anchors underwater
  • Bike rentals, watercraft, character meet & greets on the island
  • BBQ lunch is included and served island-side — don't skip it even if you're tired from the beach
🌊 Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Opened June 2024 · Eleuthera, Bahamas · Select itineraries on Disney Magic, Dream, Fantasy, Wish & Treasure

  • Disney's newest private destination — a peninsula on the island of Eleuthera, about 120 miles south of Castaway Cay
  • Known for stunning turquoise water, a more relaxed pace, and a Bahamian cultural focus
  • Adults-only beach section, kids areas, and cultural experiences throughout
  • Note: the walk from the ship is long — about half a mile — by design to protect the coral reef. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water!
  • Roughly 7 hours on the island — go ashore between 8–9 AM
  • Newer than Castaway Cay, so expect it to keep evolving — a beautiful stop that's growing on guests with each visit
💡 Private Island Tips
  • Check your itinerary — some sailings visit Castaway Cay, some visit Lookout Cay, and some visit both!
  • Both are exclusive to Disney Cruise Line — no crowds from other cruise ships
  • Beach chairs are free at both islands — rental equipment (bikes, watercraft, etc.) costs extra
  • Reef-safe sunscreen is strongly encouraged at both destinations
  • The ship's pool and onboard amenities remain available on island days — some guests split the day between beach and ship
  • Character meet & greets happen on both islands — often in fun themed outfits you won't see on the ship
